Under Armour Sportsmask Navy

Is the Under Armour (UA) Sportsmask a Good Mask?

You’re here because, like me, you think this mask looks absolutely perfect on paper:

  1. Dri-fit fabric which looks super comfortable and cooling to the skin
  2. Great color options
  3. Trendy design
  4. Wire bendable nose bridge
  5. 5 different size options

After COVID emerged, UA spent months coming up with what they thought would be a perfect mask solution for more active individuals. One that you could wear all day no matter the climate. Despite the expensive price tag I was super excited to try this. After almost a year of consistent usage, it’s comfortable but has too many flaws to be used as a daily mask and worth the price.

The good:

  1. Can wear it for hours at a time in any weather climate
  2. It looks sexy and comes in 6 colors and 5 different sizes
  3. Ear loops are comfortable
  4. Can machine wash and air dry it
  5. Passes the candle test

The bad:

  1. The nose bridge isn’t great. It doesn’t stay glued to your face the whole time. The mask will likely sag off your face a little bit
  2. The only opening for air is upwards
  3. As a result, it doesn’t work with glasses. They will fog up
  4. Polyester fabric is sweat wicking but can feel somewhat stuffy
  5. Wish they offered an option with around the head elastic instead of ear loops

Bottom line, it’s a solid mask which is overpriced but has some good features. With a couple tweaks, UA could have come out with a perfect mask but the flaws are too evident. After almost a year of consistent usage, it’s comfortable but has too many flaws to be used as a daily mask and worth the price. Because of the nose fit issues and occasional stuffiness, it’s not perfect for everyone, especially those who wear glasses. Check out our full review for our pick for best face mask for men here.
