Growing up, there is a good chance the socks you wore throughout high school were the default cotton Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Polo or Puma ones that your mom picked up from Marshall’s or TJ Maxx. Of all of those, Puma was the clear favorite which is why it was my top choice for almost a decade straight. It’s hard to beat $1/pair for something so comfortable and durable.
That remained the case until Jill recently introduced me to these Asics socks. They have been her top pick for women for years and given that they are unisex, I was curious to try to them out and see if they could dethrone my long standing love for the simple Puma socks. They did.
First off, these come in 4 different sizing options so you can likely find a pair that almost perfectly fits your feet. Second, I found these to be even more cushioned and breathable than my Pumas. Third, they are just as durable and last a long time.
A few new companies, like Bombas, have come around which have tried to disrupt the sock game. While they put out a high quality product which is better than almost anything else out there and use portions of the proceeds to support a very good cause, the premium you pay makes them an unrealistic choice for an everyday gym sock.
For roughly $3/pair, these Asics socks make a very good investment to cushion your feet day in and day out. They are extremely durable and comfortable with built in ankle tabs. The fact that they come in so many sizes also ensures that you should be able to find a pair which perfectly fits your foot.
